After work hours are set, you can block off time on your schedule with personal appointments.  You can set repeating personal appointments to take time off that is longer than a single or few days.

This works for things like:

  • vacations / holidays
  • extended travel
  • maternity or paternity leave
  • sabbaticals
  • extended leaves of absence

This also works for businesses just starting online scheduling.  You can block out time on your schedule before you start offering services.

Blocking out long-term time off

As an example, you are taking a vacation / holiday at the end of the year, starting on December 24th, and will not be available to accept appointments during this time.

(1) Go to the Calendar and find the day your vacation/holiday starts (in our example, December 24th)

(2) In the Week or Day view, click on the time slot for when your day normally starts (in our example, 9:00 am)

(3) For the Service field, leave Personal selected

(4) Select a number of hours from the Duration drop-down menu to cover your full work day

(5) For the Repeats field, select Weekly from the drop-down menu

     (a) For the Repeat every field, leave 1 week selected

     (b) For Repeats on, check the boxes for each of the days of the work week:                         Monday (M), Tuesday (T), Wednesday (W), Thursday (T), Friday (F)

     (c) For the Ends section, select the On option and choose the date the vacation                  would end (in our example January 11th)

(6) (optional) Type "Vacation" or "Holiday" into the Appointment Notes text field

(7) Click Save

What you'll see on your calendar

On your calendar, you'll see the red personal appointment blocks appearing each day you work to make you unavailable during that time on your schedule.

Clients will not see your time off appointments in the scheduler, just that there is no appointment time available during that period.
