Schedulista provides flexibility to offer start times for your appointments that will work best for your services. Using a frequency interval, setting specific start times, or using classes gives you control and lots of options.
The reduce gap setting helps to organize your schedule to limit downtime during your work day.
Appointment times and gaps
Different durations of services (including any setup and/or cleanup time settings) can cause gaps in your schedule as appointments are booked, depending on your scheduling interval or set specific appointment times.
The reduce gap setting helps when you offer services of different durations. This can also help limit the appointment times that appear to group appointments together.
Setup and cleanup time add to the total duration of a service appointment and can affect the reduce gap setting.
Reduce gaps with a scheduling interval:
The scheduling interval sets the frequency that appointment times appear during your set work hours. The reduce gap setting will add additional times at the end of previous appointments, if the durations don't match up with the interval frequency.
For example, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm work hours with a 30 minute interval would typically show appointment times at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, etc. If a client books a 45-minute service at 10:00 am, the next client would see appointment times at 9:00, 9:30, 10:45, 11:00, etc.
Reduce gaps with specific appointment times:
Setting specific appointment times for all services gives you flexibility beyond a regular interval. You can also set specific appointment times for specific services.
The reduce gap setting will add additional times at the end of previous appointments depending on the durations of your services.
For example, with specific times set at 9:00, 10:30, 12:00, 2:00, 3:30, and 5:00, if a client books a 45-minute service at 10:30 am, the next client would see appointment times at 9:00, 11:15, 12:00, 2:00, 3:30 and 5:00.
